Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)
Bogdana Fati
From the story that keeps you apart to the vitality that makes you whole again.
Individual, couples and group psychotherapy for more than 10 years. I work with emotions as a resource: we make room for them, understand what they mean and transform them, in a safe space, without rushing and without judgment.
The vision: reclaiming the unlived life
I believe emotional health reflects our capacity to live with an open heart, beyond the ways we have learned to close off, defend ourselves or adapt in order to cope with hardship. My vision is a life lived with more presence, meaning and connection, where the wounds of the past no longer set its limits but become integrated experiences that leave room for vitality and for safe, authentic relationships.
My mission: walking with you on the way back to wholeness
My mission is to offer you a space of deep safety, where together we can look at the parts of your personal or couple history that have been too painful, too confusing or too hard to reach alone.
Whether we work one-to-one or with your partner, my role is to accompany you through a process of clarification and inner realignment, so that you regain the freedom to make choices in tune with your real values and needs.
The people I work with often recognise themselves in situations like these
You are living on autopilot.
You function efficiently, but without joy or real meaning.
The past keeps spilling into the present.
Anxiety, intense reactions or restlessness that is hard to control.
You are a pragmatic professional, but emotionally drained.
Outward success comes at too high a cost to your personal life, and stress sets the pace.
It is hard to set boundaries and say “no”.
For fear of losing relationships or being misunderstood.
Your relationship has reached a deadlock.
Communication has turned into a “battlefield” where the same conflict keeps repeating, or into a silence where you feel alone together.
Anxiety has become background noise.
It is always there, even on good days.
It is hard to be yourself.
In social or professional settings you feel you have to play a role in order to be accepted.
Big decisions leave you paralysed.
You long for clarity, yet “swimming miles out into the ocean” feels easier than choosing a direction.
The architecture of change: how we work together
The approaches I use work together, addressing the mind, the body and the way you relate to others. Each method is a tool in the service of finding your way back to yourself.
EFT, Emotion-Focused Therapy
We turn conflict, isolation and relational blocks into emotional safety and genuine connection.
EMDR, calming the past
We process memories that are still active in the nervous system, so that the present is no longer driven by echoes of the past.
Experiential therapy
Healing happens through experience, not only through understanding. We create safe settings in which to try new ways of being, feeling and relating.
The values behind my work
Safety as the foundation
Emotional safety is built gradually, through attunement and respect. It is the space healing needs in order to begin.
Meaningful progress
I treat your time with respect. I aim for a productive therapeutic experience that makes your inner resources easy to reach.
Attuned to your inner pace
Progress does not mean rushing. Your pace sets the course of the process. We grow together, with patience and precision.
Humility and respect
You hold the keys to your own healing. My role is to walk with you, with respect and clarity, through your emotional landscape.
Integrity and transparency
I work with clear goals, explained methods and strict adherence to ethical principles.

About me
More than a profession, psychotherapy is a deep passion for me and an ongoing wish to discover the many sides of our inner world. My story began with a fascination for psychology, followed by a 9-year career in human resources, where I learned to understand human dynamics in complex organisational settings.
Choosing psychotherapy a second time was a deeply personal decision, made after becoming a mother. That stage of life brought me an essential clarity: how much emotional “growing up” matters, and how much we need safe spaces in which it can happen. Since then, my work has become a mission: to create safe settings where people can pause, explore and reconnect with themselves.
My way of working combines the clinical precision of EMDR with the depth of Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), in a containing, clear and change-oriented way. My clients describe a calm therapeutic presence and a space where emotions can be felt and processed safely.
Psychotherapy is a journey we take together, at the end of which we come closer to our potential and to who we truly are.

Ways we can work together
Individual psychotherapy
For finding your inner balance again and working through your personal history.
Couples psychotherapy (EFT)
For partners who want to move beyond patterns of conflict and restore intimacy.
Group therapy and support groups
An experience of growth through the power of resonance, in a protected setting where other people’s perspectives become mirrors for your own transformation.
Retreats for becoming whole
Immersive experiences of a few days in nature, dedicated to deep processing and reconnecting with yourself through experiential techniques.
The power of resonance
I believe that pain carried in isolation heals most deeply in community. In a group you see that you are not alone in what you are going through, and individual work takes on a shared dimension.
An integrated path
Groups and retreats are designed to complement individual or couples therapy. I recommend a few individual sessions first, to build the safe base needed for exploring in a group.
Workshops
Group experiences where you practise something new, in a place where it is okay to get things wrong.
Experiential group psychotherapy workshop
Am I choosing a partner, or trying to repair an old story?
You know what draws you in. You can see the signs from far away. And yet, when it comes to it, you text them again.
If you recognise yourself here, there is nothing wrong with you. Understanding is one thing; managing to do it differently is another. That is why the workshop is experiential: we look at the small, concrete moments of a relationship, make room for the hope that is hard to let go of, and try one small step differently.
One small step differently
Step 1
Asking for something directly
Step 2
Hearing a “no”
Step 3
Staying whole anyway
How we work in the group
What is said here stays here. Other people’s stories don’t leave the room.
You take part at your own pace. You can always say “pass” or simply observe.
We speak about ourselves. In the first person: what I feel, what I do, what I want.
No advice, no judgment. Here it is okay to get things wrong.
First steps: how do we begin?
Deciding to start therapy is not easy. Whether this is your first time or you already have some experience, remember: it takes two to tango. We will walk this path together.
1
Getting in touch
It all starts with a message or a call to arrange the practical details.
2
Getting to know each other
In the first 3–4 sessions we meet, in person or online, to see how we connect and to lay the foundations for your goals.
3
The process itself
We begin the therapeutic work, using the methods best suited to your pace.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know whether I need individual or couples therapy?
It depends on where you feel most stuck. If it is something personal (anxiety, the past), we choose individual therapy. If the pain lies in your relationship with your partner, we choose couples therapy.
Are sessions held in person or online?
I work in both formats: in person, at my practice in Bucharest, or online, with the same presence and effectiveness.
How long before I see results?
In couples work, things often stabilise after 8–12 sessions. In individual therapy, the aim is for you to feel some relief from the early stages.
Therapy sounds abstract. How can it help if I am a practical person?
The results are concrete: better sleep, clearer decisions, more harmonious relationships. We change the way you respond to stress through hands-on practice.
What happens to what I tell you?
Everything we discuss is confidential, in line with the code of ethics of the psychology profession. I explain the exceptions required by law at our first meeting.
A step towards yourself
If this approach, grounded in depth, respect and vitality, speaks to what you need, I invite you to take the first step together. Write me a few lines or give me a call, and we will arrange an introductory session.
